Sip & Stroll Restaurants

Grab a drink and a bite to eat from a local restaurant and check out any of the wonderful downtown shops, many of which are open late for First Friday. Stroll throughout town and experience different street performances, join in the art activities provided by local nonprofits, and more!

From 5pm to 9pm during every First Friday, adults aged 21+ can purchase a beer, wine or cocktail at a participating restaurant and enjoy it while strolling within the marked boundaries Downtown. 

Agave Bar & Grill – 101 William Street

Hola amigos! We are a Mexican American family with a history in local restaurant business. We are excited to introduce our new cuisine of Mexican flare to the downtown community and enhance the already booming restaurant scene! Our menu offers Mexican favorites such as handcrafted margaritas and specialty cocktails, fresh guacamole, perfectly seasoned tacos, and a variety of seafood dishes as well as new recipes unique to our name only! Agora Coffee – 520 Caroline Street

Agora Downtown Coffee Shop, owned by sisters MJ Stone and Andi Stone Chitty, is a coffee shop, used bookstore, gift shop, and a tremendous labor of love.  Located in one of the oldest buildings in Fredericksburg (built in 1787), and most recently a residence, Agora is described by customers as feeling like a friend’s house that also serves you coffee and delicious homemade treats.

Building upon the original Benedito’s persona,“Vitali’s” represents the exceptional and legendary life of Benny. The San Vitali church in Ravenna, Italy is one of the most important and honorific basilicas in world history much like the importance of Fredericksburg to US History.

Benny Vitali’s opened in 2014 to what seemed to be the quiet streets of a small I-95 town. Quiet Fredericksburg is not. Fxburg touts a lively downtown scene as vibrant as any in VA and we will keep slinging our 28” pies in the heart of it. Seats are limited, pizza is not.

Mello Mushroom – 609 William Street
